Setter on the Street (Feb. 4)

For our February 4 edition we asked our fellow students about their thoughts on the upcoming presidential nominations, given the Iowa caucus that Monday —Eds.

Andre Infante, Sophomore

“I don’t think any of the candidates are presidential quality.”

“Trump is like, ‘Let’s make America great again’ and he’s never made a plan or said how he intends to do that.”

“Clinton doesn’t seem to have a powerful guide.”

The ideal president is someone who cares “for the well being of the people both economically and health wise.”

Mark Neddermeyer

“Foreign policy is something I’d look for in a president.”

“I like Trump’s ideas about trying to minimize all of certain immigrants coming in here and keep a record of it.”

“I go Sanders and Trump, [but if I had to choose between those two] I’d want Trump.”

“For Sanders, I like that he’s tried to minimize student loans and do something about the education in this country. For Trump, I just feel like he’s a business man that can help out a lot.”

On who will most likely win the nomination: “For the Democratic side, I think Hillary Clinton, and for the Republican I would have to say Trump.”

Syed Ali

The next president should be “someone who thinks about everyone in the country and not just a certain group.”

Anesha Narain, Senior

“I was hoping for Sanders. I think he’s like and old grandpa and representative of American values.”

“Not Trump. I think he spreads more hate and is way too divided.”
