Last summer, Ryan Camarda, a graduate student in the Media & Communications program, flew to Slovakia, a western European nation bordering war-torn Ukraine, to interview refugees for his thesis documentary film. This is a conversation with Ryan about the project, the difficult logistics involved, and why and how he went about shining a light on the plight of the refugees.
