NEW HAVEN, CT – The Pace University men’s basketball team fell on the road, 59-52, to
Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday for their second loss of the season.
Pace’s record falls to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the NE10. SCSU improves to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in
the conference.
The Setters outshot the Owls 43% to 35% from the field in the first half, as Brandon Powell and
Adeleye Oyekanmi both sank two first-half treys to give Pace a 24-20 heading into the break.
However, the Owls outscored Pace 39-28 in the second half, undoing a 12-point Pace lead with
13 minutes remaining on the backs of four 11+ point scorers in the contest, led by Sean James’
14-point outburst.
Bryan Powell led the Setters this game with 16 points and two blocks, while Mars Dadika grabbed a team-
high seven boards and Brandon Powell dished three assists.
SCSU outshot the Setters 57% to 29% in the second half.
Pace hosts Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
