SOCA Hosts Speed Dating Event For St. Valentine’s Day
Students of Caribbean Awareness (SOCA) helped students look for a “bae” for Saint Valentine’s Day on Thur., Feb. 4 in Kessel Student Center’s Butcher Suite.
Students participated in a speed dating round talking with others and got to know one another in a unique format.
SOCA President Tremaine Pollard said that the purpose of the event was to bring people together through the speed dating format and bring some life to the campus.
“We wanted to find a way to bring people together to have a good time right before Valentine’s day,” Pollard said.
Students enjoyed the event and said that it was a great way to go out and meet new people on campus.
SOCA looks forward to hosting more events for the Pace University campus to bring more students to learn about the Caribbean and their heritage.
“We are having our annual party in April along with Caribbean jeopardy. We are excited for the future of SOCA and our events this year,” Pollard said.
