Pace Bids Farewell to RTJ
Pace University’s Pleasantville Campus said goodbye to one of their members in the Office of Student Development and Cultural Affairs (SDCA). Robert Thomas Jones, affectionately known as RTJ to many Pace students and faculty, has decided to move to Texas and start a family with his partner.
Jones was the Associate Director for Greek life and Leadership Initiatives.
“Pace University was a great place to work. I will miss my staff in SDCA and many of the fraternity and sorority men and women I served for the past five years”, Jones said.
Some of the work he did during his time at Pace included Greek recruitment, sustaining four distinct governing councils, advising Pace’s fall philanthropy– Pace 4 Kids (P4K), and the development of Setter’s Leadership Initiatives.
“Robert-Thomas not only was my supervisor, but a mentor, friend, and voice of reason. He was passionate about his work and therefore so were the students,” said Jeff Domagala, Coordinator for Leadership Initiatives. ·Some of the most passionate students on this campus are our sorority and fraternity groups. I think this has a lot to do with Robert-Thomas’s love for his work. He challenged every person that he worked with, and for that, we are better and stronger people.”
Jones has left his mark at Pace and will be missed by students and faculty.
“I am proud to say I am the longest standing Greek advisor Pace University Westchester has ever had, and wish all the best to the Greek community as it celebrates its 50 anniversary in 2016. I appreciate all I learned from the opportunities at Pace. Truly, a part of my heart will always remain in Pleasantville with my Pace family.” Jones said.
