Andrew Rondeau has been returned to active status at Pace and will resume his role as head football coach after nearly two months of investigation, according to a university-wide e-mail sent Monday night.

The statement was released by the University and sent on behalf of William J. McGrath, Senior Vice President and COO for Westchester. It stated that evidence presented “did not substantiate the allegations against Coach Rondeau and other University personnel.”

The investigation consisted of a comprehensive examination of each allegation referenced in the original news story from the New York Daily News. The investigation was conducted independently of the Athletic Department.

The statement went on to say  “in addition to reviewing relevant documents and communications, the University’s investigators conducted extensive interviews with coaches, other Athletics Department and University administrators and staff, current and former members of the football team, and persons outside of the University.”

More than 60 individuals were interviewed over the course of the investigation. However, two of the three former students whose allegations became known via the New York Daily Newsdeclined to participate in the interviews, with their attorneys providing detailed statements of their claims.

Original allegations brought on by former Pace students Ransford Quarrie and Corey Reeder accused Rondeau of verbal abuse as well as false promises of education when the players were recruited. For more information, click here.
