Pace Soccer Win Primetime Match vs. Jefferson U
After Pace Soccer vs Saint Leo’s University ended in a 1-0 shutout loss this past Sunday, the Setters bounced back with a home victory vs. Jefferson University Wednesday.
The team returned to Pleasantville, NY earlier this week ahead of this week’s game. They spent the previous week and a half out of state.
Jefferson started early with a goal in the 13th minute by freshman midfielder Nikki Dedes.
The Setters would be able to make the match level. They would strike at the 28th minute. Sophomore forward Alli Carr touched the ball to fellow forward Ava Viebrouck, a freshman, who put it in the back of the net.
Viebrouck got free and scored again in the 41st minute giving them the lead just before the half. And with that goal, she took the lead for most points in the NorthEast 10 and shares the lead for goals.
Pace’s defense did their job in the second half. The Rams had some chances. Sophomore goalkeeper Annabella Cole saw 4 shots, and they became 4 saves.
The night ended with a Setter Victory, bouncing back from their loss to Saint Leo’s. They will be back at home to begin their NorthEast 10 campaign when Saint Anselm College comes to visit. The match is on September 10 at 7 pm.
