The 2024 Campaign for Pace Football will begin at home for Week 1 and 2. The Setters are set to play the East Stroudsburg University Pirates next Thursday, September 5th, at 7:00 pm. That game is followed by another one early in the week, the University of New Haven Chargers, a fellow Northeast-10 team. The Chargers and Setters kick off Friday, September 13th at 7:00 pm.
East Stroudsburg is a familiar early-season opponent, as the Pirates and Setters played each other in Week 1 since 2021. That year and 2023, East Stroudsburg hosted Pace in their eponymous borough in Pennsylvania, while 2022 was the first time ESU came to Pleasantville, this year is the second time. The Pirates have won their two games at home as has the Setters their one, and this game is the first of two non-conference games for Pace. The other will be versus Post University on September 21 in Waterbury, Connecticut.
The University of New Haven Chargers have been a pesky opponent for Pace, as the West Haven, Connecticut-based team have notched wins both here at Northwell Stadium and on their home turf vs the Setters. A field goal made the difference for New Haven last year, who won 17-14 and set up a winner-take-all game for the NE-10 crown with Bentley, and this matchup will commence the NE-10 Competition for both teams. Pace will play 6 more schools in the conference. The teams will meet again Saturday, November 16 on New Haven’s campus. It would be Pace’s season finale.
