The world of foundation has endless products from powders to liquids to foundation sticks all from $12 at Walgreens to $70 at Giorgio Armani. All foundations promise to be tailored to your skin type-dry, oily, aging, acne-prone-whatever it may be, it can be very difficult to choose which one is right for you. Below I’ve ranked my top three favorite foundations for different skin types.

Oily Skin: Mac Pro Longwear ($40)

This is a higher quality foundation that naturally achieves medium coverage, but can be blended to full coverage easily. It really stays in place from the moment you out it on and does not break up on your face or allow oils to break through your skin. It has a matte finish-great for oily skin-and great longevity. If you tend to have more dry skin it is recommended to put on moisturizer before applying this foundation.

Dry Skin: Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow ($36)

When you have dry skin the key to success is HYDRATION. Using any sort of hydrating foundation will allow your skin to stay moisturized throughout the day and not cause your foundation to break up with your skin. Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation creates a beautiful hydrating dewy look to the skin, which looks great on dry skin year round. It’s a natural finish foundation that can be built from a light to a medium coverage and also contains vitamins C and E which help prevent aging.

Normal Skin: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk ($68)

If your skin is not dry nor oily, you pretty much have free range when it comes to what you can wear. Most foundations will blend well into your skin and you don’t have to worry about a matte or dewy finish, so it’s all about preference for you! Lucky. The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation is lightweight and gives a silky finish to the skin, which looks beautiful. It doesn’t crack on the skin and gives just the right amount of moisture. It provides medium to heavy coverage but does not look caked on, it truly looks like silk on your skin. Amazing product!
