BECCA Champagne Collection by Jaclyn Hill Review

Photo from Sephora.com

YouTube famous makeup artist, Jaclyn Hill, who has taken the makeup world by storm the past five years recently launched her own highlighter palette in collaboration with BECCA Cosmetics. The ‘Champagne Collection’ is a palette containing two highlighters and three blushes. The palette is currently sold out in stores and online and will be stocked for resale in late September. So, what’s all the hype about this palette? Let me break it down.

The two highlighters in the pallet are Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop. Champagne Pop is a frosted highlighter with orange and peach undertones. It is very pigmented and you don’t need much product on your brush to apply to the face. It shimmers in the light and looks beautiful on all skin tones. Champagne Pop has gotten the most positive reviews from the palette and Jaclyn Hill said it’s her favorite too. Just put a little on your cheekbones above your contour for a shimmering glow.

Prosecco Pop goes on a little bit darker than Champagne Pop. It has more yellow and gold undertones and goes on the skin darker, although it blends well. This is recommended if you will be spending all day outside or in the sun, where Champagne Pop is recommended for everyday wear.  Prosecco Pop will also be a good transition highlighter into fall.

The three blushes that are a part of this collection are Rose Spritz, Amaretto, and Pamplemousse. Rose Spritz is a shimmery coral shade with pink frost. This is a very pigmented shade that goes on and stays on. If you like having rosy cheeks, this product is for you! Otherwise, you might like the darker shade Amaretto. Amaretto has dark warm undertones of a rosy brown mixed with a metallic gold. This shade is not as shimmery as the others and compliments skin tones with pink and yellow undertones. Pamplemousse is very pink. It goes on a bit creamier than the other two and is very pigmented, a little goes a long way here. It has more warm undertones and stays on for about 8 hours before needing to reapply.
