It’s no secret that I’m a man who enjoys his rock music –hell I sport the rocker look, wearing leather jackets, t-shirts, and skinny jeans almost every day because I find the look so damn cool. However, I never see any of my peers listen to my favorite rock artists anymore because kids these days are so caught up in their rap music and their Justin Bieber. So here are my favorite rock bands that I would just like to remind everyone still exist and are actually still producing new music.

1. Disturbed: Seriously I love these guys they’re my favorite rock band ever. My friends and I listened to them all throughout grammar school, and after that I didn’t hear people talk about them much anymore, which really is a shame because since grammar school they have released a couple of –in my opinion- very good albums, and the lead singer, David Draiman, even stared in a new band called Device, whose music I thought was very good as well. If you take the time to examine the lyrics in their songs, they almost all have empowering messages behind them. Now just imagine what would happen if “Down With the Sickness” was played in a club instead of Justin Bieber, it would be the best party ever.

2. Three Days Grace: I haven’t had anyone bring these guys up during a conversation in like a decade. Like Disturbed these guys produce empowering rock music –my personal favorites are Break and Highroad-, even though they have a vastly different sound. I haven’t spent as much time listening to their new stuff as Disturbed, but I found their new album Human to be pretty good.

3. Hollywood Undead: Even though these guys haven’t released anything new in a while, I still feel like get overlooked –I don’t think I’ve heard them played on the radio like ever, which I can’t say about the other two on this list-. I think what I appreciate about them most is that their songs cover topics ranging anywhere from depression to partying, to taking over the world. So they have something for me to listen to regardless of the mood I’m in. Plus, I think that their outfits with the masks are ridiculously cool.
