Centered off of Fulton Street and East River in Manhattan lies the historic area of South Street Seaport. The area is one of the older areas in Manhattan and has even restored some of its buildings to be commercial. It’s located in a niche-like place and its streets are even made of cobblestone.

“It was originally a port in the city. There’s a lot of ships and you can take tours through them. I used to go there as a kid. There are a lot of places to eat. There are bars, a playground, and even fuse ball tables in the streets that you can play random people with,” sophomore Junu Moon said.

The area not only is historic and now a more commercial area, its museum offers educational programs for those interested. The Seaport South Street Museum shares information about the area and how its grown to the development it is today.

If you take a visit to the area, as Junu said, on the perfect day you could get to see the sunset hitting Brooklyn at the same time you get the open water breeze. With all that Seaport has to offer, like museums, stores, restaurants, and bars, it is a perfect place for those interested in learning, shopping, eating, and socializing.
