The summer may be coming to an end but the beautiful, warm weather that mother nature has gifted upon us still carries on for the time being.

So, there are still a few weeks ahead of us to take advantage of the outdoors before winter bares her ugly head and forces us all to layer up and lose motivation for any and all physical activities (unless eating counts).

Enjoy your last days of heat by taking in the natural beauty surrounding Westchester and taking your last swim of the summer in these swimming holes and waterfalls:

Indian Brook Falls  is located in Garrison. Although Indian Brook is not legal to swim in, this does not stop anyone from families with small children to teenagers from coming and splashing around the medium sized pool under the 20 ft. falls.

Peekamoose Blue Hole is a much larger, and deeper, swim hole but is also located further in Denning, NY, near the Catskills. All visitors should remember to keep the environment clean as this beautiful natural pool is in danger of being shut down because of visitors leaving debris.

Awosting Falls in Rochester is part of the Minnewaska State Park Preserve with a hike that spans more than six miles. Cool off from your workout with a dip in this wondrous waterfall.
