22 students attended the “Pencil Case Decorating” event this past month, hosted by the Future Educators Association in Kessel Student Center’s Boudreau Lounge.
At the event, students had the chance to sit back, relax, and interact with both familiar and new faces. Karol Noguera, the president of the Future Educators Association and a senior majoring in Early Childhood and Childhood Education with a concentration in Mathematics, states, “We like for students to learn how to socialize with each other and destress with coloring/decorating the pencil cases.”
Students used their creativity to design pencil cases using stickers, markers, highlighters and pencils to design and decorate pencil cases. Students also had the opportunity to appreciate the pencil cases their peers decorated. Food served at the event included chicken sliders, chicken strips and waffles, brownies, as well as lemonade.
Past events held by the FEA include “Midterm Essentials” in which the club provided tips to students on how to study for their midterm exams, and “Bookmark and Notebook Decorating.” An upcoming event the club will host is the “Halloween Pumpkin Decorating.” While the date for this event has yet to be determined, students can be sure to look forward to fall festivities in the near future.
