The NATURE Club hosted its Paper Pumpkins event in the Kessel Multipurpose Room this past week. Students honed their artistic skills by creating paper pumpkins. Materials provided at the event to make the pumpkins were color paper, scissors, glue, hole punchers, and pipe cleaners.
A video was displayed on the screen that showed students the steps to make the paper pumpkin. Students were first supposed to take a piece of paper and cut it into eight equal strips. Students then punched a hole into both ends of each strip and in the middle of the strip. The strips then had to be spread out to form a circle. The pipe had to be twisted and then placed at the top of the pumpkin.
The event was a good way for students to meet and get to know each other as they sat together and made their paper pumpkins. Students also had the opportunity to help their classmates and see the paper pumpkins their peers made. Food provided at the event included spanakopita, feta and zucchini fritters, and baked ziti.
Upcoming events that will be held by the NATURE club include a nature hike, which will take place on November 13th, 2025, at the Environmental Pavilion. The NATURE will also host a presentation on lung cancer for Lung Cancer Awareness month on November 13th, 2025, in the Kessel Multipurpose Room. At the event, students will have the opportunity to build tree logo sets.
