Teaching important topics in finance and inspiring students to recognize their full potential are some of the things that Dr. Ken Lobo, who teaches Finance on the Pleasantville campus, enjoys doing.
While he started his career at Pace University in 2017, Dr. Lobo has been teaching full-time since 2023. Courses that Dr. Lobo instructs include, “Corporate Finance,” “Principles of Investment,” and “Options, Futures, and Swaps.”
Dr. Lobo relishes helping students connect the knowledge they learn in his classes to the real world.
“I am happy that I have the opportunity to guide students to understand how they can apply their knowledge to the real world.”
In addition, Dr. Lobo is elated when he sees students wanting to learn new ideas.
“I like to see when students develop new ideas, accept new ideas, and challenge different ideas. I also enjoy seeing enthusiasm in students and the desire that students have to use what they learned in their academics to the real world.”
Dr. Lobo shares important tips with students, especially students who are business majors. “Read newspapers and journals, like the Wall Street Journal, so you cannot only be a student, but a citizen of the world.”
On top of understanding issues and events across the world, Professor Lobo advises students to get out of their comfort zone.
“Try something different. Do not be afraid to take risks. This will help you to discover your capabilities.”
When he is not teaching, Dr. Lobo shares, “I love to read, and I love to hike.” This past Summer, Dr. Lobo went hiking to Everest base camp.
