I remember the first time I saw one of the most highly anticipated MCU movies, Avengers: Endgame. I was in a movie theater with my best friend when I was in high school. We were both amazed at how excellent the CGI, action, and emotional impact was. I can say that, without a doubt, Avengers: Endgame is one of the best MCU movies of all time.
For anyone who hasn’t seen Avengers: Endgame yet, here is a brief summary. After the tragic events of Infinity War, the remaining Avengers and their friends are experiencing significant grief and pain, and they must team up again. With half of all life wiped out, they create a desperate, high-stakes plan to undo Thanos’ actions. This forces them to make huge sacrifices in a final, emotional battle to bring back balance to the universe.
The movie is one of the most famous from the MCU because of the sheer number of Avengers put together for this major team-up event. Superhero fans will love the re-appearances of classic heroes like Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), and Thor, the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth). This movie introduces new heroes who electrify the screen, like Spider-Man/Peter Parker (Tom Holland), Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), and Ant-Man/Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), and many more.
This has me thinking about what will happen in Avengers: Doomsday. This next team-up movie is not out yet, but I think the storyline for this one will be that Doctor Doom, the new villain of this movie, will be trying to take over the Multiverse. Thus, the Avengers have to team up again to attempt to stop him. With Robert Downey Jr. coming back to play Doctor Doom (which was a huge shocker for MCU fans), there have been many theories of what other previous superheroes could come back by way of the Multiverse.
Personally, I think that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man could both come back for this Multiversal story. If it happened once, why not again? I also think that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine could come back for this team-up movie since he was in another MCU movie, Deadpool & Wolverine. Speaking of Deadpool & Wolverine, I think Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool will likely return for Avengers: Doomsday as well. There is a slim chance of Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and Venom appearing in Doomsday, because Sony’s three Venom movies were not received as well.
In conclusion, I think Avengers: Endgame was a spectacular MCU production and if done right, Avengers: Doomsday could also prove to be outstanding.
