Rondeau and his party have denied the allegations brought against the Head Football Coach in a statement released Thursday.

The statement comes just days after the coach was returned to active status following a two-month investigation.

“Contrary to published media reports and as corroborated by credible evidence, Coach Rondeau was
not verbally or physically abusive toward any student athlete nor falsely promised any potential
or eventual member of the Pace University football team that they would be able to obtain a university
degree or minor during their remaining year of NCAA eligibility,” the statement read.

The statement continues that Rondeau was “dismayed” by the allegations, but still readily accepted the University’s decision to place him on administrative leave.

Rondeau was accused of verbal abuse as well as falsely promising educational opportunities for football recruits.

The statement notes that Rondeau is “relieved and grateful” that the investigation concluded that the allegations against Rondeau “were not substantiated.”
