Pleasantville, N.Y.-  Pace field hockey secured a 1-0 victory over Saint Thomas Aquinas College yesterday.

The lone goal came from the stick of Freshman midfielder Sidney Sims. For the second game in a row, Sims scored. Alike to the field hockey team’s last game, they would only need one goal to win.

Pace also dominated in other aspects of the game. In the shots-on-goal category, the Setters got 6 to the Spartans’ 1.

The referees did not give out any fouls for the game to either team.

This win was Pace’s 5th against 4 losses bringing them one game over the .500 mark. The shutout was the third of the year, the previous two coming from a game facing Southern New Hampshire University last Friday and a game facing Limestone University that took place on September 3rd in Gaffney, S.C

The Setters will play next again at Pace’s Peter X. Finnerty Field hoping for an upset and their third straight victory versus 8th-ranked Assumption University Greyhounds on October 8th.

Pace has played two ranked opponents before, 3rd-ranked East Stroudsburg University and 6th-ranked Saint Anselm College, both defeats.
