The Pace University Men’s Basketball team was named to their second straight NCAA Division II Basketball Championship yesterday on Selection Sunday.

The Setters’ resume coming into the day was a regular season record of  20-10, 12-3 home record, and 11-9 record in the NorthEast-10 (NE-10) competition.

Also under their belt is 2 wins versus ranked opponents, 23rd ranked Saint Thomas Aquinas on December 17th and 23rd ranked Saint Anselm College on February 1st.

Pace is ranked 5th in the East Regional for the NCAA DII tournament. They will be playing in Manchester, New Hampshire to begin the tournament.  Saint Anselm University was named the 1st seed of the region for winning the NE-10 Championship. For that, they are hosting the first 3 rounds. Pace most recently played at Saint Anselm versus their Hawks. The result was a 78-70 defeat in the second round.

The Setters will play the University of New Haven Chargers, also part of the NE-10. The Chargers also finished with a 20-10 overall record but a 13-7 conference record. As a result, it got New Haven the edge over Pace for the 4th seed in the East.
