Pace Updates Visitor Policy to keep Campus Safe

Emily Teixeira

Pace University sent out an email on Monday clarifying their visitor policy, as well as other on-campus COVID safety procedures.

In order for guests (including alumni, retired faculty and staff, and friends and family of Pace students and staff) to enter campus, they must:

  • Be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccination upon arrival OR provide a negative test result for a COVID-19 PCR test administered no more than 72 hours prior to arriving on campus
  • Complete a series of screening questions and present their results upon arrival. The questionnaire can be found here.

Guests are not permitted to enter campus buildings unless they have been invited to perform, speak at, or provide supplies for an on-campus event. These types of guests must be pre-registered and receive written approval.

Students are allowed to visit each other’s rooms and dorm buildings, and commuter students are allowed in the residence halls. Students are allowed up to two friends or family members to assist with move-out. These exceptions aside, visitors are not permitted in residence halls.

On-campus events are for Pace students, staff, and faculty only. Off-campus groups are allowed to rent Pace facilities, but they must keep in contact with a member of Pace staff, follow the above guidelines, and remain in their designated location for the duration of their time on campus.

Spectators are permitted at athletic events. Spectator guidelines can be found here.

Use of Goldstein Fitness Center is limited to students, faculty, and staff. Community memberships have been temporarily suspended.

Prospective students and their families must pre-register for tours and follow all COVID safety guidelines and procedures.

Contractors, vendors, transportation services, and delivery personnel are permitted on campus. Delivery personnel do not have to fill out health screening forms, but they are required to wear face coverings and obey social distance guidelines.

In addition to these clarifications regarding the guest policy, Pace reminded faculty and staff who have had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine are now eligible for their booster shot. People over the age of 65 and people between 18 and 65 with underlying medical conditions are also eligible, and Pace encourages people to register for their booster shot as soon as they are able.

Those who are not fully vaccinated are required to be tested for COVID on a weekly basis. Vaccinated members of the Pace community may also be tested if they so choose. The school estimates that about 5% of the on-campus population is being tested. You can see the results of these tests on the Pace COVID Dashboard.
