Adiba Sikder, Editor-in-Chief
My name is Adiba Sikder and I’m a senior double majoring in digital journalism and digital cinema and filmmaking. I’ve always valued stories and storytelling. Growing up as a first-generation American, I learned about my Bangladeshi culture primarily through storytelling and I know how valuable storytelling is to every individual. When I first started writing, most of it was my own experiences and stories that I made up. However, before coming to college, I realized that, like my own stories, there are stories out there that no one knows about or reports on that could severely impact people’s lives. I want to be able to report on these issues and ensure that no one is kept in the dark. I began my journey with The Pace Chronicle as a regular reporter and moved up to Feature Editor, and I’m currently the Editor-in-Chief. In the past I’ve had internships with NowThis Media, The Queens World Film Festival, and I’m currently a post-production and story development intern for Creative Chaos Vmg. I hope to be able to provide proper leadership for my staff as well as deliver important news to the Pace community with a new, digital edge.
